Big day for Milan Gurović Academy and KK Real Beograd! The pearl that was honed by the famous Serbian basketball player in previous years is going to the United States of America, no less than in the hands of NBA legend – Penny Hardaway.

Simon Majok, an 18-year-old prodigy from South Sudan with a Serbian passport, signed a contract with the University of Memphis and continues his career in the NCAA League with the Tigers.

What was hinted at during the past season, in which Majok dominated the Junior League of Serbia playing for Real, has now been confirmed.

Memphis beat out competition in the form of other prestigious universities, and Tigers coach Penny Hardaway got the 216-centimeter-tall talent, who covers the four and five positions.

Milan Gurović, who three years ago brought Simon to his Academy and launched him into the basketball orbit, does not hide his satisfaction with the work done.

– Simon is an example of how work, discipline and real leadership can launch a career. I am proud of him and believe that he has a bright future – says Gurović.

Jovan Obradović, president of KK Real Belgrade, speaks in the same tone, after the successful completion of several months of negotiations.

– Simon’s departure to Memphis with the legendary Penny Hardaway is new proof that the system we have set up works extremely well. Young talents, not only from Serbia, recognize us as a place where they can progress and build their way to the stars. And I will reveal something to you: there is a great chance that Majok’s departure to the NCAA will not be the only one this summer, when it comes to our players – Obradović enigmatically pointed out.

By the way, during his many-year stay at the Gurović Academy, Majok also received Serbian citizenship, so he has the right to perform for our national team. If the predictions that he has a great career come true, there is no doubt that he would be a huge addition to the Eagles in the future.
